Anxiety nervously haggles with reason
The sharp, treasonous taste delivering its poison
Contentment conceeds to contrasting emotion
Consuming its prey with confounding devotion

Disappointment chokes when swallowed
Coarsed with sorrow - sweetness soured
History cruelly repeating and cheating
Tidal betrayals ebb and flow against hoping

Weight of the World

Love’s decisive, derisive measures -
Self-induced stifling romantic pleasures,
Built on external judgemental leisures;
Fuelling need, and greed, and feed
Me now!
With promotion of karmic come up ‘uns
And pounding philosophical scatter cushions,
Comes teasingly weaving such childish notions
Of crushing coals into glistening diamonds.

Drowning bells chime warning danger:
Deep rooted fears take heed
This love's destructive wager,
On which carniverous shadows feed.
Roads that souls fear to venture,
Haunted truths shine darkness bright
The pull and pride of ego's nature
Shrouding hope in blinding night.
